Conservation Area adjacent to Pittville Park, which is included in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historical Interest.
By the time ALP Architects became involved in the site, an earlier scheme had been considered unacceptable by both the local authority and English Heritage.
In order to obtain permission, historical research was carried out focusing on Regency plans for the area in order to gain a thorough understanding of the original vision for Pittville.
The planning process involved lengthy consultations with Cheltenham Borough Council and English Heritage to ensure that the resulting buildings were appropriate for such a sensitive area. The final development consists of two buildings, each containing eight large apartments.
